Southeast Asian perceptions of foreign assistance
This volume presents the papers and proceedings of a workshop held at Chulalongkorn University in June 1976, jointly organized by the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (Singapore) and the Institute of Asian Studies of Chulalongkorn University. The book explores how Southeast Asian countries perceive foreign assistance, examining political, economic, and social dimensions of aid in the region. Contributors analyze the motives behind foreign aid, the responses of recipient governments, and the implications for regional development and international relations. The discussions highlight the complexities of aid dependence and the diverse national perspectives within Southeast Asia.
