Adoption of blockchain technology: opportunities and challenges in driving the frontiers of e-government in Indonesia

With existing use cases of blockchain from anticorruption, cybersecurity, even foreign policies and development aid – The government of Indonesia, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can learn such potentials be more efficient, provide better services, respond to the demands for transparency and accountability, thus increase the trust of citizens and nations

This paper identifies and analyzes matters as follows. First, the general overview of blockchain technology. Second, how governments and organizations adopt the blockchain system in its digital transformation architecture, with existing use cases/practices of blockchain as benchmarks. Third, highlights advantages and challenges of blockchain adoption that can potentially have a role in the digital transformation plan of the Indonesian government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to achieve its national objectives.
