Australia's foreign relations: In the world of the 1990s
Most foreign ministers entertain the dream to write at least one profound book on the unique significance of his or her country's foreign policy. Usually this remains a dream, which in most cases may perhaps be best for everyone around. My good friend and colleague, Gareth Evans, however, has somehow managed to make that dream a reality. With the co-authorship of Bruce Grant, Chairman of the Australia-Indonesia Institute, he has written a book with a scope and depth of perception that are indeed impressive. It will certainly help us to obtain a clearer understanding of Australia's foreign policy, its dynamics and motivations.
