Bali process: Towards a better management of migration in the Asia-Pacific region
Migration has emerged as a complex and critical issue in the Asia-Pacific region, driven by factors such as economic disparities, conflict, and climate change. The Bali Process, established in 2002, has played a pivotal role in addressing the challenges associated with migration management in this vast and diverse region. This abstract explores the key objectives and accomplishments of the Bali Process in its pursuit of better migration management. The Bali Process operates as a regional forum comprising governments, international organizations, and civil society actors. Its primary goal is to enhance cooperation among member states and stakeholders to ensure safer and more orderly migration. Over the years, it has evolved to address various facets of migration, including human trafficking, irregular migration, and refugee protection.
