In this book, Molly Bondan tells the story of her husband, Mohamad Bondan, a National Movement figure who fought for Indonesian independence since he was a teenager. Because of his political activities supporting Indonesian Independence in 1945, he was arrested by the Dutch colonial government.
Molly, whose real name is Molly Warner, is from Australia. In its development, she was interested in left-wing politics as well as Asian religion and culture. This interest made her motivated to support the Indonesian Independence Movement since 1944. She met Mohamad Bondan and married in 1946. Then she settled and worked in Indonesia from 1947 until she died in 1990.
