State and trade policy in the arrangement of AFTA and MERCOSUR

Highlighting the domestic dimensions in the arrangement of two major trading blocs in the contemporary economic regionalism phenomena, Southeast Asia’s AFTA (ASEAN Free Trade Agreement) and Latin Americas MERCOSUR (Mercado Comun del Sur), this study addresses the idea of the state as being a basic pact of domination as it generates two types of capitalist integration setting : the commodity led and the manufacture industry-driven.
