Rejuvenating the Indonesian tourism industry in the aftermath of pandemic covid 19: Re-opening Bali

Susapto Anggoro Broto - Nama Orang;

The COVID-19 pandemic brought an economic crisis, impacted the tourism industry, and presented various challenges in terms of recovery faced by multiple countries worldwide. Various efforts need to be immediately carried out by various countries to recover their country tourism, where almost all countries in the world are very dependent on tourism to support their country's economy.

The Government of Indonesia must immediately take concrete steps to restore the economy affected by the pandemic Covid-19. One of the sectors that must be Indonesia's priority in its recovery is the tourism industry, considering that tourism is the backbone of the Indonesian economy. The tourism industry in Indonesia is the second-largest contributor to Indonesia's state revenue after oil and gas.

The revival and recovery of Indonesian tourism is a priority and must be implemented immediately by the Government of Indonesia. The decline in the tourism sector in Indonesia has brought a multi-dimensional impact on Indonesia, especially on the Indonesian people and the Indonesian tourism industry. These impacts include the high unemployment rate due to the many layoffs, the decline in hotel occupancy rates, the closing of small and medium businesses supporting tourism, and the closing of restaurants and food stalls.

Due to these conditions and taking into account the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic is still with us, the Government of Indonesia must immediately make a breakthrough to overcome the decline in Indonesian tourism by rejuvenating and strengthening the tourism industry to adapt and transform toward a digital ecosystem and sustainable and resilient tourism. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesian Representatives, as the front line in implementing foreign relations, have a strategic role and must play an active role in restoring Indonesian tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Recover Together, Recover Stronger.
