The Workmen's Compensation (Amendment) Ad, 1995(30 of 1995) has drastically amended the provisions of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 in as much as out of 36 sections of the original Act 11 Sections have been amended / substituted and three schedules amended. It has also inserted sections 15-A and 15-B relating to special provisions, to captains and other members of crew of aircrafts and to workmen abroad of companies and motor vehicles. The Amendment of 1995 has enhanced the compensation payable to claimants from Rs. 20, 000/- to Rs. 50,000/- as provided in section 4 of the schedule. This edition of the book covers this amendment at its appropriate places and equipped with up-to- date case law.
