Nigeria's weapons procurement process: It's implications for her defence policy
Generally, weapon system acquisition implies the process by which nation-states obtain their arms and equipment. The two basic ways through which these are achieved are production and procurement. On the one hand, weapons production could be wholly or jointly organized, it could be privately owned and controlled by the goverment as is the case in most capitalist countries or production could belong entirely to the goverment as it is in the case of socialist economies.
