Optimizing "Indonesia Spice Up the World" to strengthen Indonesia’s gastrodiplomacy
Gastrodiplomacy is a key instrument for building Indonesian branding abroad as well as expanding economic opportunities. In this case, Indonesia has great potential to develop its gastrodiplomacy because Indonesia has a diverse range of culinary choices, spices, and seasonings. However, up to now, Indonesia’s gastrodiplomacy has not shown success on a global scale because Indonesia does not yet have a grand design or national strategy for its gastrodiplomacy.
Indonesia Spice Up the World, a national program launched by the government in 2021, is an opportunity for Indonesia to strengthen its gastrodiplomacy. Indonesia is projected to become known for its delectable foods and aromatic spices as a result of this program. This program is also expected to bolster the national economy by expanding the food industry, increasing spice exports, and promoting tourism through culture.
The government of the Republic of Indonesia must be able to utilize and optimize the Indonesia Spice Up The World program through good planning, comprehensive and sustainable promotional activities, and the involvement of all stakeholders involved in the food and spice business in Indonesia and overseas.
