Religion and political conflict in South Asia: India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka
Contemporary political struggles in South Asia, often involving ethnic and communal conflict and violence, have increasingly assumed religious forms; at the same time various, often dominant, religious positions have become increasingly politicized. We may speak of the 'religionization' of politics and the politicization of religion.
