Strengthening Indonesia’s infrastructure diplomacy through internalizing BerAKHLAK core value of civil servants
Human capital as part of infrastructure diplomacy plays a significant role in achieving Indonesia’s diplomacy. Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has highlighted that infrastructure diplomacy will be among the priorities of Indonesia’s foreign affairs. Therefore, it is important to strengthen Indonesia’s infrastructure diplomacy of human resources through various avenues. One of the avenues is in the aspect of building a strong value for employees of MoFA, which would enable them to perform at their best and deliver concrete and desirable result,
Having values that could support the working environment would be beneficial for the employees and the organizations. With the newly announced core values of civil servants, which would transform the core values of all civil servants in different part of the country into a single core value should be also adopted by the MoFA. Challenges does exist, as MoFA’s values of PIMPIN has already been adopted since 2020 however still limited employees of MoFA are familiar with value. Therefore, this paper would recommend a policy that would support the internalization of the core value of BerAKHLAK as it announced by the President of The Republic of Indonesia in July 2021 and is to be internalized by government institutions.
