Child support for foreign service officers
Strengthening economic diplomacy is one of the highest priorities and main agendas of the Foreign Ministry (MoFA). The economic instruments of diplomacy have become more important since post-cold war. In the era of digitalization (4.0), the needs to utilize the internet and technology to optimize the work of economic diplomacy is unavoidable. The internet has become vital to public and brought millions into open perspectives. This offers extensive opportunities for states as they seek to engage with stakeholders globally.
This paper will use the terms and concepts of economic diplomacy, digital platform and INA ACCESS to analyze the problem in this topic. Based on this analysis, the paper recommends that the MoFA enhance INA ACCESS by empowering Indonesia’s Missions Abroad to promote INA ACCESS through their social media portal to reinforce economic diplomacy.
This policy paper aims to provide an analysis and revisit MoFA’s prioritization of economic diplomacy for utilizing information technology. It proposes the enhancement of INA ACCESS as a digital platform information system with reliable, accurate and actual content and features that focus on government-business links. The paper also offers policy recommendations on how to utilize INA ACCESS to be more sophisticated digital platform information system.
