Pride prejudice dan paradox in Indian society
India has been a democratic polity for more than four decades since its independence. During this period Indian society has changed unrecognisably in almost every walk of life. It will be appropriate to stand back and look at these changes in Indian society and polity objectively and without bias in order to face the new challenges and opportunities as a part of a reappraisal of India's social and political priorities. It will be opportune to examine attitudes, inconsistencies and prejudices as they have developed over the years and which form part of India's social and political history. M.S. Patwardhan has attempted in this book to provide a new perspective on Indian society and polity in the rapidly changing international and local environment. He has brought to bear on this subject not only his wide ranging and rich experience in the field of business, industry and management but also his study of social issues and concerns over the years in India and abroad. He has not hesitated to point out the contradiction weaknesses and foibles among Indians.
