Comparative government & politics: The government and politics of the european community
In recent decades a transformation has occurred in the relations between the states of Western Europe. The European Community has been central to this process of change. The importance of the Community is no more clearly seen than in the range of its policy interests and responsibilities. Agriculture, external trade, competition and, more recently, the drive to complete the internal market are probably the best known of the Community's policy concerns, but, in fact, there are now few policy areas in which the Community is not involved in some way.
