The new Australian militarism: Undermining our future security
This book examines the nature of Australia's emerging militarism and its implications for the future of this country and our neighbours. It argues that Australia's forces should confine themselves to the defence of this continent and its maritime resource zone. It urges a cooperative approach to regional security which would use dialogue, negotiation and conflict resolution as tools for resolving regional conflicts - and for demilitarisation. This important book will be read by politicians, policy makers, those interested in foreign affairs, defence and trade, as well as those interested in the peace movement and in race relations - not to mention their own safety and the security of Australia.
