Indonesia’S Post Covid-19: Boosting Economic Development Through Indonesia Investment Authority
The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered a global economic slowdown, disrupted international trade, and constrained global supply chains and investment flows. In response, investment has become a key instrument for Indonesia’s national economic recovery. One of the government’s policy measures was the establishment of the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), a Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) designed to attract domestic and foreign investment in support of long-term and sustainable economic development. This paper examines how INA carries out its mandate to optimize state assets, attract investment through co-investment arrangements with domestic and international partners, and contribute to improving Indonesia’s investment climate. It also explores potential future scenarios and policy options to formulate a comprehensive strategy for the Government of Indonesia, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The proposed strategy aims to strengthen economic diplomacy, enhance investor confidence, and maximize INA’s role as an instrument for national economic recovery and sustainable growth.
