“Total football:” a multi track diplomacy to establish little Indonesia and house of Indonesia abroad
This study examines the use of multi-track diplomacy and nation branding to support Indonesia’s economic recovery, cultural promotion, and protection of Indonesian citizens abroad during the COVID-19 pandemic through the establishment of Little Indonesia or House of Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, it explores the potential of these hubs to strengthen people-to-people connections, showcase Indonesian arts, fashion, and cuisine, and promote trade, tourism, investment, and services. The study recommends establishing these hubs through collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant institutions, public-private partnerships, or contributions from the Indonesian diaspora and communities abroad.
