Revamping Indonesia’s strategy in gaining Russian outbound tourists during covid-19 pandemic: A Comparative Case among ASEAN Countries
This paper examines how Indonesia’s economic diplomacy can strengthen the competitiveness and global market share of its halal food industry. Despite being the world’s largest halal food consumer, Indonesia has yet to maximise its potential as a global producer and exporter. Using scenario planning, the paper analyses key market dynamics, major stakeholders, and challenges, focusing on two critical uncertainties: global harmonisation of halal food certification standards and Indonesia’s domestic production capacity. It proposes policy options and practical recommendations for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen halal food diplomacy, expand international market access, and enhance Indonesia’s position in the global halal economy.
