Improving Protocol Governance During the Covid-19 Pandemic Through Utilization of e-Government
The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed diplomatic protocol practices by requiring adjustments to government interactions in accordance with health protocols. This study examines best practices in diplomatic protocol services and the implementation of e-government to facilitate virtual interactions among government officials during the pandemic. Using SWOT analysis, the findings indicate that e-government can reduce the involvement of protocol personnel, minimize physical contact, and help prevent the spread of COVID-19 while improving cost efficiency. The study recommends integrating e-government into existing regulations to provide legal certainty and ensure preparedness for future pandemics or other force majeure situations.
