Support System for Ecnomic Officers in the Indonesian Mission Abroad

Indonesia’s economic diplomacy strategy emphasizes strengthening trade, investment, and tourism through its diplomatic missions abroad. However, many Indonesian diplomats lack specialized economic expertise and adequate resources to support these activities effectively. This paper identifies key challenges faced by economic officers, including knowledge and competency gaps, insufficient guidelines and references, and limited database support. It highlights the need for a comprehensive support system to enhance diplomats’ capabilities and improve their performance in economic diplomacy. The paper also proposes recommendations for developing an effective support system for Indonesian economic officers.
