Portal Peduli WNI: Does it need to evolve into a mobile-based application?
The Portal of Services and Protection of Indonesian Citizens Abroad (Portal Peduli WNI) is an integrated information system developed by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide services and protection for Indonesian citizens abroad. After five years of development, the portal has faced challenges in collecting comprehensive data on Indonesian citizens through its self-reporting feature and in providing quick and effective services. This paper examines the development and use of a mobile version of Portal Peduli WNI as a complement to the existing web-based system, which has been considered less user-friendly and has not received consistent use from users. The study proposes a mobile-based application designed according to the needs of Indonesian citizens abroad, incorporating updated technology and features, and presents a roadmap for its further development toward a super-smart application.
