Completing the trident of well-being: Improving children tuition fee from allowance to facility
Indonesia’s Children’s School Tuition Fee Support (BBPA) for Home Staffs abroad requires improvement to keep pace with rising education costs. Although BBPA covers tuition for up to two children, its funding has remained unchanged since 2016 and often covers only part of actual costs. This situation creates financial and administrative challenges for staff stationed overseas. The proposed “Trident of Well-Being” framework recommends transforming BBPA from financial assistance into a structured education facility, alongside housing and health insurance. This approach requires updated education-cost data, stronger interagency coordination, and gradual integration into the national policy framework to improve the well-being of Home Staffs and their families.
