Empowering public diplomacy: The role of data and AI (Artificial Intelligence) in crisis management through enhanced response and human validation
Global information fragmentation and increasing digital crises require more adaptive diplomacy through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). This paper proposes a strategy to strengthen diplomatic resilience through four pillars: human validation of AI outputs, improved AI literacy among diplomats, international interoperability standards, and transparency in technology use. The strategy prioritizes human capital by allocating at least 60% of digital budgets to capacity-building and AI training. This approach aims to accelerate crisis responses, reduce the risk of information misinterpretation, uphold ethical integrity, and strengthen public trust in digital diplomacy.
