Hou Han Shu: Juan 1
“Hou Han Shu” (Book of the Later Han) is one of the official dynastic histories included in the “Twenty-Four Histories.” It was compiled by Fan Ye during the Song Dynasty and later annotated by Li Xian and other scholars during the Tang Dynasty. Volume 1 presents foundational historical accounts of the Later Han Dynasty (25–220 CE), including imperial biographies, governmental structures, early political events, and significant developments that shaped the dynasty’s formation. As a major classical text of Chinese historiography, this volume serves as an essential reference for scholars, historians, and readers interested in the political, social, and cultural evolution of ancient China.
