“Chen Shu” (Book of Chen) is one of the official dynastic histories included in the “Twenty-Four Histories” and was compiled by Yao Silian during the Tang Dynasty. It documents the political, military, and cultural history of the Chen Dynasty (557–589 CE), the last of the Southern Dynasties before the unification under the Sui Dynasty.
